The Royal College of Nursing Archive holds the most important collection of nursing history in Europe.
Our collections date from the 1870s to the present day and capture the evolution and development of the nursing profession. The majority of records relate to the work and history of the Royal College of Nursing. We also try to reflect the rich and diverse voice of nursing through our personal collections and oral histories.
The archive has an extensive collection which contains the Royal College of Nursing corporate archive, personal papers and oral histories from nurses and members of the RCN, as well as photographs, postcards and badges. Explore more using our archive catalogue.
RCN Members can explore the records of past events, such as Congress and Annual General Meetings, using the Digital Archive for Members.
