Portrait photograph of the men and nurses of Ward A2, in 2nd Western General Hospital, Hollywood Park, Stockport. The men sit and stand with two nurses and a sister. The pose in front of a plaque, stating the hospital name and ward, with a lengthy motto: 'The boys in here from different parts Record their 'thanks with all their hearts To Matron, sisters, nurses all Attentive to each patient's call. A Merry Christmas it shall be With thoughts for chums across the sea And if they do towards blighty steer We hope they click and fall in here.' Not postmarked or stamped. Published by W Howard, Stockport. The hospital was formally a secondary school (converted late 1915).
